Martin went to Aunt Margot in Musselburgh for nearly six months, and worked as a waiter in Edinburgh. After a while he moved to a different job which had a little cottage available. I remember him at Margot's when the family gathered for Liz and Mike's wedding - the stag night had been enjoyed by all and left Martin rather the worse for wear! 

Sadly however he gradually became more and more unwell and came back quite suddenly to Garlands. His first hospital admission was  immediately after that, to to St Luke's Woodside for several months
